We’re excited to announce Alpine Psychometrician, Dr. Tracey Hembry, Ph.D., is joining ICE as co-presenter, alongside Mamiko Ouazzani, The IIA, for their upcoming ICE Academy Webinar, "Program Audits: Why you WANT to be Audited... " to be held on Thursday, September 24, from 12:00 PM -1:00 PM ET.
Learn the details of a program audit, including what it entails, the resources involved, and the benefits to a certification program. For each topic, an auditor (Dr. Hembry) and auditee (Ms. Ouazzani) will each share their perspective. Dr. Hembry will provide expertise and advice regarding the psychometric aspects of an audit as someone who has provided this service for various programs. In contrast, Ms. Ouazzani will share her thoughts as a program representative who has had certification programs audited. The reality is that all exam programs - regardless of program size, exam purpose, or use - are susceptible to potential security issues. All exam programs should therefore plan for the prevention, detection, and enforcement of such issues. During this webinar, we will discuss how information used for routine exam maintenance can also be used to identify security concerns and, once detected, what you can do about it. This will include suggestions for possible follow-up analyses to investigate further.
• Angelica Rankin, Ph.D., Psychometrician
In CertMetrics, Alpine’s Candidate and Credential management system, we will discuss a wholistic approach for test sponsors to maintain the pulse of their program through looking at program, security, and exam level reports on a regular basis. Leveraging advanced reporting capabilities through CertMetrics, these reports are intended for test sponsors to quickly and efficiently review program trends, identify potential risks, and monitor the impact of strategic decisions. Near the end of the webinar, we will present a tool that test sponsors can use to create and manage similar reports.
• Russell Smith, Ph.D., Vice President of Assessment Services and Senior Psychometrician
• Blair Harris, Vice President of Technology Solutions
• Gina Raney, Technical Program Manager
This webinar will explore aspects of credentialing exam item writing that are not easily taught, but can be coached. New subject matter experts can usually learn the technical item writing pitfalls such as long correct answers or absolute terms in the distractors fairly readily. Tailoring item difficulty to the candidate population, avoiding distractors that are too close to true, and writing items that reliably identify candidates who are not ready for the credential all require an SME mindset that comes with coaching and practice.
During this webinar, we will be discussing the following item writing topics:
