Test items and/or tasks are drafted, reviewed and revised, and ultimately approved for pre-testing, flagged for further review and revision, or rejected. The result is a new or enhanced bank of items/tasks that aligns with the blueprint specification and the intended interpretations and uses of test scores.
Alpine staff has extensive experience facilitating in-person and virtual item development and review workshops; training and mentoring subject matter experts (SMEs) in the art of creating draft items and tasks; editing draft items and tasks for grammar, style, psychometric guidelines, and bias; facilitating SMEs in alignment studies and congruence and technical accuracy reviews; and facilitating or performing additional reviews as necessary to ensure a quality bank of items and/or tasks.
